My dragons *cries*
Dec. 29th, 2011 03:25 pmJust discovered WHY my adult magi dragons don't have names anymore - they didn't get clicks!!
So the chances of successfully re-naming them from the "Dragonrders of Pern" is about nil :(
Ah well... got some new eggs - I am *woefully* behind the curve. FList - can ya help make them grow? Thanks for the clicks! (let me know if you have eggs, I'll return the favor)

Poem against bullying
Oct. 14th, 2011 10:05 amSFW but haunting
The long painful days at school and at home. The only escape lies on my wrist,
as I watch my blood flow. The pain of not being loved, it doesn't hurt anymore.
All my troubles are slipping away, becoming no more my troubles. The fear or
never being liked, gone. All that is left is the blood dripping down my arm.
Some days it's pills and others it's the alcohol from my parents cabinet. The
everyday hurt, fear, and shaking disappears with a single slit. The everyday
punches no longer affect me. The everyday names I get called I can no longer
hear. The days I have to pick up my things because they get thrown down by
ignorant people I no longer pick up. In my room with a knife, watching crimson
liquid, I feel safe, I feel calm, I feel....alone.
written by Logan, age 16 from South Carolina
for a school assignment against bullying, after a girl in Junior class killed herself due to bullying + bad home life.

OMFG... TF DotM was awesome!
Jun. 29th, 2011 10:08 amSaw the 9pm showing of TF:DotM on Tuesday.
SO GOOOOOODDDD. Worth the $17.25 for IMAX 3D.
Bay didn't lie about an item.
And this film proves there are 2 constants in the TF universe: Optimus Prime will die & come back at least once and that Sentinel Prime ( cut for semi-spoilers )
For those that read the novelization - there are some changes. Overall - changes I liked. One involving Megs I'm still undecided about.
And Whitney/Carly - slightly less vapid than Mikaela. The hotness factor gets a good one-liner from Sam's mom.
Overall, not a bad way for the series to go out. One death pissed me the fuck off... and I will happily ignore it, and hope fanfic writers do as well.
Also - for those that have written some fic about Cybertron's current state or location... gods I feel bad I can't recall who/title... Macx_larabee or Sakon76 I believe... you didn't have it wrong.
Now I have to go hop to some boards & LJ comms to happily squee.

Lizard to the Vet [humor]
Jan. 28th, 2011 12:42 pmIf you have raised kids (or been one), and gone through the pet syndrome, including toilet flush burials for dead goldfish, the story below will have you laughing out LOUD!

Well damn - CFA is my favorite fast-food restaurant. While I respect he doesn't want his chain open on Sundays (which having worked retail, was nice to know there was at least one day a week you'd never work), to support such a hate-filled group just... *cries* Oh well - looks like I'll be EETNG MOR BEF!

Why I fired My Secretary [humor]
Aug. 12th, 2010 11:02 amGiven my week so far...
My birthday was last week. I didn't feel very well when I woke up on that morning. I went downstairs for breakfast, hoping my wife would be pleasant and say "Happy Birthday!" and possibly have a small present for me.
As it turned out, she barely said good morning, let alone "Happy Birthday." I thought . . . Well, that's marriage for you, but the kids . . . They will remember. My kids came bounding downstairs to breakfast and didn't say a word, so when I left for the office, I felt pretty low and somewhat despondent.
As I walked into my office, my secretary Jane said, "Good morning, boss, and by the way, Happy Birthday!" ( It felt a little better that at least someone had remembered. )

Private auction?
Jun. 13th, 2010 08:02 pmAnyone know of a site I could use for a private auction?
Looks like there is either a SG Ravage or Glit (using Ravage mold) as one of the show-exlcusives for this year's botcon.
I don't have any SG left, and his pkg-buddy seems to have interest (Uni HOUND = G2 Scorch).
As I know there are several cassette lovers amongst me LJfriends, I'd like to offer first dibs to ya'll.
Any idea how I can do that? eBarf doesn't seem to have it anymore.

I AM SEEKING FOLKS TO TRANSFER ROOMS TO! If I release the rooms, they're no longer available at the Con discount. Feel free to point ppl in my direction. My email is myrrhibis at yahoo. com The only cost would be if there's a transfer fee - never heard of one, but I wouldn't be surprised in this economy.
Also, for those who aren't real clear about park pricing, eating & attractions, check out this great guide (food looks to be only a little more than I'd planned for): Kirkimus Prime's Walt Disney World Quick Guide

Computer help (humor, SFW)
May. 29th, 2010 08:08 pmI was having trouble with my computer. So I called Eric, the 11 year
Old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control and asked
Him to come over. Eric clicked a couple of buttons and
Solved the problem. As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So,
What was wrong?’
He replied, ( 'It was an ID ten T error.' )

I got pointed to it after hunting for an article from the am radio show, about how some restaurants are eliminating Children's Menus.

May. 19th, 2010 10:58 pmI have no clue what kind of keywords to use to look for an animal rescue group that might allow me to temporary house my cat for 1-3 months, for a fee certainly. With the understanding that upon end of contract, if she's not retrieved, I surrender her.
I know there's a few people who work w/ rescue leagues - any DC-metro area ones? Would include northern VA, DC, and MD.
