It's not the caffeine, it's the water intake.

The more water you drink, the less toxins your body holds onto, and when hungry, a good trick is to drink water (or Crystal light, sometimes I get bored w/ a gallon of plain water and toss in a packet of that stuff), the colder, the better, and then, if after that, you're STILL hungry, then eat. Assuming it's not one of your normal 6 eating times (remember, you should be eating 6 small meals a day, and no, Twix and hershey's kisses do not count as a meal).

Also, as for the diet soda, there is research coming out that's suspecting the diet stuff is actually WORSE for weight loss, as it's not natural and therefore the body doesn't process it properly.

You can NOT beat water for health and weight loss. It'll also help your skin and whatnot; why do you think my skin's so clear (minus stress)? It's not just luck of the draw; I eat well and drink almost a gallon a day.

It sucks at first, but suck it up, and get used to it. Make sure your water is cold, warm water is nasty IMO.

The caffeine would also affect your blood pressure, sleeping habit, etc. All of which will affect how you feel. For some people, diet sodas spike blood sugar (regardless of them having "no sugar"). Remember the whole "low glycemic" conversation when I brought the bars over? If your blood sugar's getting spiked constantly (and it generally DOES when you eat like crap), you're going to be tired, caffeine or not, due to the inevitable crash.

None of this is rocket science; you're already online, so go research various things. You *CAN* lose weight without having to do an hour of cardio a day, just by altering your diet. Cardio and strength training merely accentuate that - the more muscles you have, the more calories you're burning at any time.

So there you go, there's your book/life lesson of the day.
