I have a good friend who just went on bed-rest last week for preclampsia (high BP while pregnant).

Her hubby just posted in his LJ that she's been admitted. If it doesn't come down, they'll have to induce @ just under 29 weeks.

Goddess keep her & her little one safe & healthy.
Thanks for the warm thoughts so far.

She's not pre-eclampsia - yet. But being closely monitored to see if new meds bring the BP & protein down. She/baby has been given 1 of 2 steroid shots, to help prepare baby's lungs in case of early delivery.

If that happens, 80% survival rate with good quality of life. But, that's physical. Mental development might be impeded. The baby would need to be in NICU for up to 2 months.

And my friend will be in the hospital until delivery - best case. Worse, the baby is coming.
