I hear ya! on the two phrases. That's a great article and so damned true. I worked as a waitress for one week, and I will never do that again. Ever. It's a horrible job, and anyone that does that job has my sympathy and my respect and I tip accordingly.

Have I mentioned that I love your dragon names? So many wonderful ones from the dragonrider series. I get a pang every time I see Brekke, though. We named our previous dog Brekke, and we had her for twelve years. Silver's a good dog, but Brekke was a great dog. I miss her and think of her every time I click on your scroll.

Yes - I've been having fun naming them :) And the non-Perny ones are thanks to my son. Hehhe. Thanks for the clicks!

I want to kiss the person that wrote that article. I broke up with a guy for treating a server like shit, when she didn't deserve it. Somethings are intolerable and petty rudeness is one of them.

There are some people you want to treat well. The person cutting your hair, the people touching your food, and the people picking up your trash.

Yep that really says it all! If I could work my will anybody who treats service people like dirt should be put on the other side of the phone/counter/apron to see just how difficult the job is.

"I long for the day a manager walks up to a table and says, “How dare you treat my employee this way. Get out now.”"

Heheh I had a manager do that once...
A customer (long time customer mind you) over when I did graveyard shifts @ Mobil flipped the hell out one day when my pentagram fell out of my shirt. He ended up going to the manager about it and demanded I be fired because he as a "Christian" would not frequent a store that hired "THOSE" people (oh if only he knew). She calmly told him that she would be happy to escort him out the door, as she did not need the business of someone like him.
