What/where/why are you moving?

Date: 2008-12-29 06:19 pm (UTC)Why - place I'm in has noticably gone down hill, uses intimidation tactics, and asks too much $.
Such as, staying in the current 2BR/2BA w/ my cat = +$80-100 MORE than if I move (wtr/sewer not currently incl, and I have to have a landline/VOIP due to crappy cell reception) ... so I'm going to a 3BR. It'll be about 50-60 more than I'm paying now, but I have 3 BR - which is plenty of space for me & son. and no monthly $30 for the kitty (mind you, she's fixed, and this current place is the 5th place she's lived - and I've always gotten my deposit back).
Ideally, this will be the last move I do unless I purchase a home. Or find the right guy, sometime down the line, that I want to move in with.

Date: 2008-12-29 06:26 pm (UTC)I wish you the best in your new place, Okami, and hope the move with your child is going smoothly. Are/were you able to complete it while he's off from school this month?

Date: 2008-12-29 06:54 pm (UTC)And I allowed for weather to crap on me when I *want* to move, w/ 3 total Saturdays to move.
And very glad you liked :)

Date: 2008-12-29 06:52 pm (UTC)It sounds like a great idea. Are you trying to get this done before the end of the year/month so that you don't have to pay them another month's rent?
I have no problem with animals and think that apartments that charge for them are ripping people off just because they can.
Good luck.

Date: 2008-12-30 06:09 pm (UTC)Nope - not til Jan17.
Yea - when I realized how much I've *been* paying (would've paid since 2008 they messed up, so I got pet-rent-free) =/> pet deposit - yea... just wrong. Particularly if I can get references from prior owners that my pet didn't mess things up.
What really burns my goat (and part of why I'm moving to apt rather than a house/TH) is that many owners will allow *dogs* but not cats - even though my 11 y/o cat hasn't torn stuff up, and can pee whenever she needs to... versus dogs needing to be let out - and w/ traffic congestion like it is, HA! I've heard of more places messed up by dogs than cats that weren't kittens when they arrived.
Course, don't get me started about not being able to get pet-insurance now that my healthy-to-date cat is over 10... poor thing is pretty much screwed if she has any problems, since I can't get insurance for her.
