Both grandfathers, my uncle who I never got to meet - who died while dragging 2 of his men to safety in Nam, 1 month before he was to marry his HS sweetheart. To all those who are or have served.

Apts, TH & houses; suburban mostly(VA, PA, and KC-MO, briefly IN Tampa FL).
Prefer a house, BUUUUUUT - now that *I* am the one doing the upkeep, by myself - I do like a well-made & upkept-property Apartment. Once I am in a better $ situation, later this year or next, I'd like to move to a smaller (older) house, or a 2-story TH. About 1000sq ft is a good size for myself & my son - my appt is a bit over 1k, and is a comfortable size to live in, and keep clean.

Yes - my marriage to my son's father. I became a home-body, stopped engaging as much in things I liked to do, that he had no interest in & which he became sarcastic & resentful that I could/would discuss w/ others, even to include my parents. Hence why I now am looking for a companion - I have a wonderful son, and other than someone in my bed I can speak about those same (and new) interests with one or more friends & family. And other than sexually (and $$) I am happier than I have been for a long time w/ him.

I am allergic to LA/Pasadena air... which sucked ass for my vacation (BotCon).

Sadly, am only fluent in American-English (yes, I firmly believe there IS a difference from British English). I have spoken Spanish, Japanese (& write), German, and a tad Russian. I'm told that my Spanish accent is *very* good for a non native (7 native speakers from different countries), my Japanese & German accent & pronouncement are good for being self-learned. Russian, I don't quite remember, other than I hated writing it XD
If my son were to have to learn Spanish as a standard in school (which is possible), I'd be happy to learn with him. I've thought of going to the Comm College & take a course to refresh me, and re-acquaint myself, as in my area of the US, it's a *very* useful language, and I've often had to speak numbers & jotted-down phrases to customers for co-workers.

Yes. 1997, 2 yr relationship w/ a legal-fiance w/ whom I'd handfasted the year before. The nastiness of that colored my lack of dragging friends into it/making them choose sides when I separated from legal&handfasted-hubby in 2006 (diff guy). As for that ex-hubby - if not for our son, I'd happily leave him to his life. We share no friends, only 1 acquaintance (and that's mostly due to son).

sorta - I use Vonage through the computer. Both in case I've misplaced my phone (can call it), as well as - mostly - to have a number for the bill-collectors to call rather than work or cell phone.

1-story rambler. Under 50 yrs; 3 good-sized BR (or 2 good, 2 smaller), min of 2.5 baths (1shower min in MBR, tub in main, prefer a 1/2 bath on the other side of home).
Gas heating & cooking; side-by-side fridge, freezer on bottom. Stand-alone freezer (small); kitchen island. washer & dryer NEAR the BR!! (or if in a 2 story TH/House - upper level).
Good-sized (15x15) LR/RR - I only need 1 - w/ conduits or otherwise hidden wiring for the surround-sound. Fireplace (wood preferred, but gas ....maybe).
2car garage - though 1 side would be filled w/ my MC, and bicycle & such, incl the weed-whacker. No mower needed - I'd have someone else do it lol. Small herb garden.
Big enough backyard -with grass- that I could have small circle ritual in. 1 tree, not sure which kind... a decent shade tree - maybe a Pearson's Pear(?). Small fountain or water-fixture.
