< (no space) lj (space) user (no space) = (no space) username (no space) > I believe... no quote marks around the username.

let's try this: <lj user=sakon76>

that works in the body - but not the subject line; least I've never gotten it to work in Subject line.

thanks though [livejournal.com profile] sakon76 heheeh

yep, have to have quotes around username. otherwise, it gives you the "bad username" error in really unfriendly bold text.

hmm- i wonder if it's the style of journal I'm using.... now that I have a paid account I should look to see if a different style makes that work...

Tested changing style... nope, that didn't do it for me...

i did lj user="sakon76" (sorry hon - you are a shorter lj name). with the <>, no spaces....

*sigh* *thuds head onto desk*

Make sure you are in HTML mode not in the rich text format mode when you do it. It will not read the LJ tags in that mode.

Never works in the slagging subject line. Ever. But looks like you got it to work otherwise!

It doesn't work for me in my normal journal either though - I think it maybe a theme/style/layout thing.

Or maybe it's a comm thing? Since inkyfeathers is a community, not a journal? Dunno, just guessing. Comms have different rules than journals.

Maybe - though I thought i'd seen it on personal journals too... ah well - off to ask the LJ-gods for assistance!

I think it must be journal style... it's appearing for me when I look at this entry on my friends page... but it doesn't work here...

LJ is weird like that...
